- Built and own systems with direct, measurable impact: an event and ticketing platform on PostgreSQL, a drafting assistant that writes flyer copy, an extraction tool that turns event pages into structured data, and a 20-tool MCP server integrating the self-built project management tool with Claude. More at sonyabirch.com/projects.
- Design and ship automated workflows that remove manual steps entirely: calendar-to-sheet sync, staff and readiness alerts, automated post-event report prompts.
- Read and steer agentic coding tools daily. Comfortable in Python and JavaScript, as well as in following logic I did not write myself.
- Own the MarTech stack end to end: tool selection, integration and licence decisions, working in HubSpot alongside Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Slack and Google Workspace.
- Integrate systems through REST APIs, webhooks and MCP, connecting the stack into one working system.
- Build the guardrails behind everything I ship: cost checks before anything metered runs, missing data flagged for review, a check the user can run on the output.
- Wrote the documentation and trained 20+ colleagues who run these tools daily without me.
- Own the marketing function end to end: strategy, positioning, brand, content, the venue's WordPress site and SEO, campaigns across organic and paid, press, partnerships and the events themselves. Multiple campaigns live every week against a weekly event cycle.
- Coordinate the production team: social media manager, designer, bookers and an IT contractor. Set priorities, brief the work, review what comes back and adjust the strategy accordingly.
